Requirements
Please have per-session cookies enabled. This application is written in Java and the server needs to know who it is communicating with so it can deliver the correct content. This is managed using a session cookie, JSESSIONID.

Rules
Prediction Entries should be entered no later than the first game of the season. (if you join after the start of the season, you will not be able to enter in results for games already played.
5 points will be awarded for a correct result and score.
3 points will be awarded for a correct result only.
10 points will be awarded for each correct Cup prediction. These will be added to the overall Season Table only.
Double points are awarded for correct WINNING score predictions against Hearts, Celtic and Rangers.
After each session a "prize" is awarded to the player with the most points. If two or more players share the same amount of points then the overall points scored followed by the points awarded for the Hearts, Celtic and Rangers predictions in that session will be used to decide the winner.
Each session starts with all player on 0 points, although the seasons tally remains unaffected.
No player can win the same "prize" more than once per season.

Registration
Registration is required before you can play in any of the competitions. You need only register once and you will be able to enter in any future competitions. Some competitions may be password protected to limit membership, this will typically NOT be the case for the standard London Hibs competition.
To register you need to give us some information:

  • First and Last names, we want to know who we're dealing with.
  • Username. This is important as it's your access to the Prediction Entry pages. It has to be unique and is not case sensitive.
  • password. This IS case sensitive so remember it and keep it secret.
    (note: leading/trailing spaces are removed from full name, username and password. These fields cannot be blank or spaces)
  • Both e-mail address and location are optional. Without the e-mail it will be harder to contact you though.

    Predictions
    So you have registered and are eagre to play. Click on the Login button and enter your username/password. Presuming you entered your details correctly you will be presented with a list of games for which you have to select the scores. Select how far you think Hibs will get in the Cups and click Submit to save your predictions. That's it. Should you want to change your predictions afterward, but before the season starts, then follow the same steps. This time when you are presented with the predictions page your predictions will be displayed allowing you to change only the results you want to and keep the remaining predictions as they were.

    Reports
    At last! reports are creeping onto the scene. Currently players can view a pretty standard league table with links provided to allow sorting on different columns.

    Known Problems
    This site has been coded and tested largely on IE 5.0 and above. If you use Netscape then you may see some pages different than they are supposed to be. Also, some of the database queries take longer when I test using Netscape, I don't know why. Once all of the current issues are resolved the Netscape ones can be ironed out.
    Some times when registering there is an error message displayed. Ignore it and carry on, your details will still be entered into the database.
